Aiptasia is the common name that is widely used to refer to sea anemones that are classified under several scientific names. See below for links to various resources including the genome and RNA-seq data for different Aiptasia strains.
Aiptasia engages in symbiosis with several different species of Symbiodiniaceae: Breviolum minutum, B. psygmophilum and Symbiodinium linuche. Aiptasia can take up a variety of non-native symbionts in a laboratory setting, most notably Durusdinium trenchii.
